Dripping Faucet. Broken Handle. No Water Pressure. We Fix It Today.
Astoria Plumbing & Water Heater Specialists repairs and installs all types of kitchen and bathroom faucets throughout Astoria and Queens. We carry cartridges, O-rings, valve seats, stems, and aerators for the most common brands on every truck. Most faucet repairs are completed in a single visit — no second trip, no waiting on parts.
Faucet dripping or dripping constantly when turned off
The most common faucet call we get. A faucet that drips when fully closed means an internal component has worn out — a washer, cartridge, O-ring, or valve seat depending on your faucet type. Beyond the annoyance, a single dripping faucet wastes up to 3,000 gallons of water per year on a NYC water bill. It's a fast, inexpensive fix — and one that pays for itself quickly.
Faucet handle is stiff, hard to turn, or makes squeaking noise
A handle that's difficult to operate almost always means mineral buildup on the stem or cartridge, or a worn stem washer creating friction. In Queens' hard water, this is one of the most common faucet complaints we see. We service the internal components and restore smooth operation — or replace the cartridge entirely if it's past the point of service.
Faucet handle turns but nothing shuts off
When the handle spins freely without stopping the water, the stem or cartridge has stripped or broken internally. The faucet can no longer hold a closed position. This needs immediate attention — and we fix it same day.
Low water pressure at one faucet only
If pressure is fine everywhere else but weak at a single faucet, the aerator — the small screen at the tip of the spout — is almost certainly clogged with mineral deposits. This is a five-minute fix. If cleaning the aerator doesn't restore pressure, the issue may be inside the faucet body or the shut-off valve under the sink, which we also service.
Water pooling under the sink
Water under the sink usually comes from one of three sources — a loose supply line connection, a failing shut-off valve, or a leaking faucet body. We identify the exact source and fix it on the same visit. Don't ignore under-sink leaks — sustained moisture in a cabinet causes mold, damages the cabinet floor, and can reach the subfloor. If the leak seems to be coming from inside the wall rather than the faucet itself, our leak detection and pipe repair service can pinpoint it.
Faucet needs replacing — old, outdated, or damaged
Whether you're upgrading a kitchen faucet, replacing a bathroom fixture that's beyond repair, or replacing a faucet damaged during a renovation, we handle the full installation — shut off the supply, remove the old unit, install the new one, connect supply lines, test for leaks, and confirm flow and pressure before we leave.
We work on every faucet type found in Astoria and Queens homes:
Common in older kitchen faucets. A rotating ball inside the body controls both temperature and flow. When they drip, the cause is usually a worn spring, seat, or O-ring — all inexpensive replacement parts. We carry kits for the most common ball faucet brands.
Cartridge Faucets
Found in both single-handle and double-handle designs in kitchens and bathrooms. The cartridge is a self-contained unit that controls water flow and mixing. When it wears out, the faucet drips or the handle becomes stiff. Cartridge replacement is one of the cleanest, fastest faucet repairs — 30 to 60 minutes in most cases.
Higher-end faucets that use a ceramic disc cylinder instead of a cartridge or washer. Extremely durable — but when the disc cracks or the inlet seals wear out, they need professional service. We repair and replace ceramic disc faucets for all major brands.
The oldest faucet type — two separate handles, one for hot and one for cold, with a rubber washer that compresses against a seat to stop the flow. Very common in older Queens apartments and two-family homes. When they drip, the washer or O-ring has worn out. Simple, fast repair.
Pull-Down & Pull-Out Kitchen Faucets
Modern kitchen faucets with retractable spray heads. Common failure points are the spray head diverter, the hose connection, and the O-rings at the base. We service and replace all components including full unit replacement for brands like Moen, Delta, Kohler, and Kraus.
Battery or AC-powered sensor faucets require both plumbing and basic electrical knowledge. We service sensor faucets including battery replacement, sensor adjustment, solenoid valve replacement, and full unit swaps. Need a matching upgrade in the shower too? See our shower repair and valve replacement page.

Most single-component faucet repairs — cartridge, washer, O-ring — run between $100 and $250 fully installed. A new kitchen faucet supplied and installed typically runs $350 to $650 depending on the fixture. Bathroom faucet supply and install runs $275 to $550. We give you a firm price on-site before starting anything.
A faucet that drips once per second wastes approximately 3,000 gallons per year. On a New York City water bill, that's a measurable cost — and it compounds every month you wait. The repair is almost always under $200 and pays for itself quickly.
Absolutely. Buy whatever faucet you want and we handle the full installation — removal of the old unit, installation, supply line connections, leak testing, and cleanup. Just make sure the number of holes in your sink matches the faucet configuration (single hole, three holes, etc.). If you're not sure, call us before you buy and we'll advise.
Most cartridge or washer repairs take 30 to 60 minutes. A full faucet replacement typically takes 1 to 1.5 hours. Both are same-day in virtually every case.
It depends on severity. If water is flowing freely and won't stop, shut off the supply valve under the sink — clockwise until it stops. Then call us. If the shut-off valve is also failing, shut off the main water supply to your home and call us immediately — we treat that as an urgent call.
